Job summary

Blue Bell Hill Primary and Nursery School, part of the Flying High Partnership, is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the classroom and 1:1 for those with additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure every child feels safe and valued.

The role emphasizes supporting emotional development, inclusion, and strong relationships with families.

Qualifications

• Experience with children who have additional needs.
• Ability to adapt learning activities and resources.
• Reflective practitioner who records progress clearly.
• Calm, nurturing approach to support emotional development and inclusion.
• Reliable team player who follows safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or additional needs, including supporting individual plans.
• Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
• Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
• Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.
