Job summary

River Academy, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, seeks a Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND, learning needs and behaviour. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, contribute to targeted interventions, and help maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment across the school day.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, data tracking, and collaboration with SEN teams to promote student progress and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Understanding of safeguarding and GDPR basics.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students and small groups to understand instructions and stay engaged.
• Deliver targeted interventions for SEND or additional learning needs.
• Log and track interventions using Provision Map and other systems.
• Support SEN Team and SENCO in assessments and progress checks.
• Build positive relationships and model high behaviour expectations.
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
