Job summary

Outwood Grange Academies Trust's Outwood Junior Academy Brumby in Scunthorpe is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with teachers, implement tailored learning activities and provide academic and welfare support to individuals and small groups.

The role covers classroom support, intervention management including SEND and EAL, and developing student support plans. Start ASAP; 27.25 hours per week, term-time plus 2 days, salary £16,478.88–£16,740.78 (Grade 3).

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school setting or with young people.
• Good communication skills and flexibility to meet school needs.
• Proficiency with ICT packages including Microsoft Office and confidentiality.
• Willingness to undertake training to assist students, including care plans.
• Experience with SEND and/or EAL is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning activities and monitor student progress with constructive feedback.
• Support students with SEND or EAL and contribute to individual plans like One Page Profiles and EHCPs.
• Support social and emotional well-being and assist with eating, dressing and hygiene as required.
• Provide cover and assistance in intervention settings such as the Bridge and PLC.
• Escort and supervise students on visits and invigilate examinations.
