Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school. You will support KS4/KS5 students across 1-2-1, small groups and whole-class settings, helping learners access learning and make progress toward EHCP outcomes.

A driving licence is essential to visit work experience placements and liaise with employers. You will contribute to social and emotional development, support careers guidance, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a whole-class, small-group and 1-2-1 basis.
• Help students access learning and make progress toward EHCP outcomes.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Support students' social and emotional development.
• Contribute to adaptive teaching and curriculum planning.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Support students during break and lunchtime.
• Maintain accurate student records and contribute to feedback on learning.
• Support students with careers guidance and work experience placements.
• Visit students at work experience placements and complete placement reviews.
• Communicate with employers and families as appropriate.
• Support KS4 and KS5 students to identify suitable work experience opportunities.
• Update student profiles and careers information.
• Use Compass+ following appropriate training.
