Teaching Assistant – SEN Class, Leicester

Type: Full-time Contract (Temporary to Permanent)
Start Date: Aug 22nd 2024

Career Teachers is seeking a motivated and experienced SEN teaching assistant to work 1:1 with students at an SEND School located in Leicester City (London Road). The school is well-resourced and values its staff culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Acting as a positive role model and managing behaviour
2. Ensuring a safe learning environment and adopting a child-centred approach
3. Promoting inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
4. Understanding and assisting with Individual Education Plans & Behaviour Support Plans under the guidance of the teacher
5. Supporting the class teacher with planning, monitoring, and delivering lessons

Key skills and experience required:

• SEN experience, preferably with students with Autism
• Previous support work within a school or child-related experience
• Professional manner
• Enthusiastic, positive, and friendly approach
• Team Teach training (not necessary)
