Job summary

Orchard Vale Community Primary School invites applications for three Teaching Assistant roles within the Harbour Schools Partnership. You will support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development, both in the classroom and in small groups.

The positions include one permanent 39-week role starting January 2027 and two fixed-term 39-week roles until 31 August 2027. DBS disclosure is required, and applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to relate well to both children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND.
• Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources.
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence.
• Supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompanying pupils on trips when required.
