Job summary

Mulbarton Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join Year 1, assisting the class teacher during lessons and supporting small groups. The role is 11.5 hours per week on Thursday and Friday, term-time only, with an additional 0.5 hours for MSA duties.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children, understand needs of diverse learners, and apply positive behaviour strategies. The school welcomes applicants who show energy, teamwork, and a can-do attitude.

  • Salary – TA, Scale C/D £13.26-£13.68 per hour depending upon experience/qualifications MSA Scale A £12.85 per hour
  • Fixed Term until August 2027

  • MSA – 1 hour per week
  • Term Time only

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our excellent school, working within a year 1 class. The role will involve supporting the teacher during whole class delivery and working with small groups.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children.
  • Has an understanding of children with additional needs.
  • Has an adaptive, consistent and kind approach when supporting children to do their best.
  • Has good standards of written oral English and Maths skills.
  • Uses positive behaviour strategies following policy.
  • Is energetic, committed and resilient.
  • Has a positive attitude, good sense of humour and has a can do approach.
  • Has the ability to work as a team: can liaise with the class teacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure learning takes place at the appropriate level.

The successful candidate must be available to work 08:30-15:15 Thursday-Friday (11.5 hrs TA and 30 minutes MSA per day).

As a school, we are keen to support the future development of our teaching assistants, through regular CPD opportunities and a willingness to support candidates wishing to pursue a formal qualification and future career development if desired.
