Job summary

Krishna Avanti Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to assist our teaching team and support pupils across the curriculum. The role is fixed-term for maternity cover through November 2027, working with individuals and groups to help learners access the curriculum and progress.

You will support classroom activities, prepare learning resources and provide pastoral and practical help, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment aligned with our values of inclusion and

Qualifications

Good level of literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience of general administrative work e.g. photocopying, laminating.
An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
Good keyboard skills and knowledge of ICT packages, computer, audio and video equipment.
Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

Support the class teacher with learning activities, working with individuals and groups of pupils to help them access the curriculum and make progress.
Help create a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment where pupils feel supported, encouraged and able to participate in learning.
Provide pastoral and practical support to pupils, including encouraging positive relationships, supporting personal needs and responding appropriately when pupils are unwell, distressed or unsettled.
Assist the teacher with classroom preparation, resources, routine assessments, record keeping and providing feedback on pupils’ progress and achievement.
Promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all pupils by following safeguarding, health and safety, SEN, data protection and Trust policies.
