Job summary

Krishna Avanti Primary School in Leicester is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team on a fixed-term basis for maternity cover until November 2027. The role involves supporting learning activities, helping individuals and groups access the curriculum, and providing pastoral support to pupils.

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to prepare resources, assist with assessments and contribute to an inclusive, well-organised learning environment that promotes pupil wellbeing

Qualifications

  • Good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience with general administrative tasks (photocopying, laminating).
  • Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Good keyboard skills and ICT literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with learning activities for individuals and groups.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment to aid participation.
  • Provide pastoral and practical support and monitor pupil well-being.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources, routine assessments and feedback on progress.
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety policies and contribute to school activities.
