Job summary

Krishna Avanti Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support learning across the curriculum and assist the teaching team in delivering high-quality teaching. You will work with individuals and groups, preparing resources and providing pastoral support under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role emphasizes inclusive education and positive, supportive classroom environments. The position is fixed-term (maternity cover) until November 2027.

Qualifications

• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• Experience with general administrative tasks (photocopying, laminating) and teamwork.
• Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.
• Good keyboard skills and knowledge of ICT packages, computers, audio and video equipment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with learning activities for individuals and groups.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment.
• Provide pastoral and practical support to pupils and respond to distress or illness.
• Assist with classroom prep, resources, routine assessments, and feedback on progress.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety policies and contribute to school activities and development.
