Job summary

Gateshead Council is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant Level 3 for Eslington Primary School in Gateshead. The role involves in-class support and one-to-one assistance for pupils with EHCPs, focusing on SEMH needs.

There are two posts (SSA), full-time, one permanent and one fixed-term to 31 August 2027, across Rose Street and Hazel Road sites, with potential transport between sites.

• Experience of SEND/SEMH
• Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management
• Excellent communication with staff and pupils
• Child-centred, adaptable and enthusiastic while maintaining high expectations
• Reflective practitioner

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support and one-to-one assistance to pupils
• Support pupils with EHCPs and SEMH needs
• Work across Rose Street and Hazel Road sites as required
