Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in a range of primary schools around Blackburn, Darwen and Accrington. The role involves delivering pre‑planned lessons, supporting whole‑class learning, and maintaining a positive classroom environment in the teacher’s absence.

You will work with various classes and year groups, ensuring continuity of learning and supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting learning across primary year groups.
• Confidence delivering pre‑planned lessons to whole classes.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Delivering prepared lessons to whole classes during PPA time.
• Supporting pupils' learning and behaviour management.
• Following and adapting lesson materials where appropriate.
• Working collaboratively with school staff to maintain a consistent learning environment.
• Providing additional support to groups or individuals as directed.
