Job summary

The Arthur Terry School is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our supportive team. You will work alongside teachers to support students' learning, progress, wellbeing and inclusion across the school, helping pupils achieve their full potential.

You will support teachers in delivering learning activities, work with individuals and small groups, and help create a positive, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Experience of working with young people in educational settings.
• Caring, patient and positive approach to supporting students.
• High expectations of student behaviour, engagement and achievement.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students and adapt approaches for different needs.
• Good communication and organisational skills and effective teamwork.
• Adaptable, reliable and able to respond to changing priorities.
• Committed to inclusion and helping every student reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering effective learning activities, including work with individuals and small groups.
• Providing encouragement, guidance and practical support to students to engage with their learning.
• Supporting students who face barriers to learning to build confidence and resilience.
• Helping create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitoring student engagement and sharing progress with teaching staff.
• Collaborating with teachers, pastoral staff and SEND colleagues to support wellbeing and achievement.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and promoting high behaviour and attendance.
