Job summary

Blackstone Recruitment Limited is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join our partner school supporting pupils aged 6–11 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will help deliver high quality teaching and learning, assisting students who are often several years behind their peers.

duties include establishing warm relationships, promoting independence, and supporting the Class Teacher with day-to-day running.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
• Level 2 and/or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications preferred.
• Experience in a special school environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and engaged.
• To promote independence and personal development among pupils.
• Support the Class Teacher in day-to-day classroom routines and activities.
• Respond to varying needs of the school and adapt tasks accordingly; some physical intervention training provided.
• Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and well-being.

Our School supports pupils aged 6–11 with communication difficulties linked to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We're seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join our school. You will be supporting high quality teaching and learning. Although we are a primary school, many of the students are working at least 2 academic years behind their chronological age.

Key Duties:

• To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
• To promote and encourage independence and personal development
• Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class
• To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school. Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
• To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
