Christ The King Catholic Academy in Lancashire is seeking a temporary SSA Level 2 Support Assistant for two half terms, with possible extension. The role focuses on supporting pupils with additional needs in EYFS and across the school through targeted interventions.
The successful candidate will work under the SENDCO, be a reflective practitioner, and contribute to high-quality education for children and families. The post is fixed-term, term-time only, 25 hours per week.
Thank you very much for your interest in the temporary SSA Level 2 position until February 2027. This position offers an opportunity for someone in between roles, or looking for a new short term challenge, working in our school.
The governors are looking to appoint a skilled and energetic support assistant who is ambitious for the educational development of pupils with additional needs. The role in the first instance is working within our EYFS department but it also involves supporting other pupils further up the school through interventions and support.
The post provides an excellent opportunity for a well-motivated, reflective practitioner to join our talented and skilled staff team, committed to ensuring we provide the best possible education for the children and families we serve.
The successful candidate will receive support and guidance from the school’s SENDCO and an opportunity to engage with other staff within our school. Although the role is only for two half terms, there may be the potential to extend this in the near future.
We are seeking a skilled staff member, passionate about working in a primary school as well as looking to develop professionally by working across the whole school offering support to those children that may need it.
Our goal at Christ the King is to create, with our pupils, a loving Catholic learning community in which all are able to thrive and reach their potential, growing into confident, thoughtful and happy young people.
This strapline is the heart of our Catholic identity and is the basis of our children’s spiritual and moral education. We encourage pupils to “believe, belong and become” in all that they do. This means working hard, making the best of their talents and developing their appreciation of the gifts of others. Life for many of our children is a struggle. Our mission across both schools is to strive towards providing a place that is filled with fun, laughter, enjoyment and discovery. We aim to remove as many barriers to learning as possible, to ensure our pupils achieve their full potential.
