CHS South in Manchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join the staff. The role supports pupils’ learning, wellbeing and personal development under the direction of teachers and the Headteachers.

We require candidate experience with children, basic literacy/numeracy, and Level 2 English and Maths qualifications. The post is term-time plus one week, 30 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Has experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
• Has a basic understanding of child development and learning
• Demonstrates excellent numeracy and literacy skills
• Can build strong, professional relationships with students, staff and parents

• Works effectively as part of a team and shows a willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Support for Pupils: Work with small groups under teacher supervision, including implementing Individual Learning Plans; Promote inclusion and equal access to learning; Encourage independence and positive behaviour; Attend to students’ personal and welfare needs
