Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 3 – SEND

A welcoming and inclusive school in Birmingham is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 3 students with moderate learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional support to achieve their full potential.

The school provides a nurturing environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of each student. This school requires a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting children with moderate or complex needs.

Job Role:
  • Supporting Key Stage 3 students with moderate learning needs in the classroom
  • Assisting the teacher in delivering differentiated lessons to engage and motivate learners
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students develop confidence and independence
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting students with emotional regulation
  • Working collaboratively with staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers and support staff
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly moderate learning needs
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and helping every child succeed
