SEN 1-1 Primary Teaching Assistant in Harborne - Birmingham

Primary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Harborne - Birmingham. Aspire People are currently working alongside a primary school in the Harborne area of Birmingham to find an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team after May half term in 2025. This position involves working with a young child with SEND needs. The role is in a mainstream class, but someone with SEND experience would be ideal. It is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.

Requirements of the Applicant

• Experienced/confident supporting children with challenging behaviour
• Comfortable providing personal care where required
• Able to adapt to the pupil's varied moods
• Available full-time until July 2024

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with a SEND pupil
• Create a safe learning environment for the pupil and other pupils in the class
• Ensure the child remains focused on lesson plans
• Tailor support methods based on the child's mood each day
• Follow policies and procedures in line with safeguarding and child protection guidelines
