SEN Teaching Assistant

A busy community primary school in Peckham, Southwark is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday during school term time. The working hours are 8.30am-3.30pm.

In this role, you will work one-on-one with a child who has complex learning needs, providing a nurturing, supportive, and safe environment. Your aim will be to encourage and motivate the child to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities

• Support the child's learning on a 1:1 basis, which may occasionally take place outside the main classroom setting.
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with ASD, is essential.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach is required.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently is important.
• Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration.
• A good understanding of how children learn, along with previous experience in a similar role, will be highly beneficial.
