Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the team from November 2026. This full-time position is temporary with a path to permanent, offering a daily rate of £90–£120 depending on experience and qualifications.

You will support the class teacher, work with pupils individually or in small groups, prepare teaching materials, and help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment. A DBS check is encouraged, and references will be requested.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or educational setting is desirable.
• A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A commitment to supporting children's learning and development.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Assist with classroom organisation and daily routines.
