Greenacre School in Barnsley is seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA2) to support pupils with severe and complex needs. Under the guidance of a teacher, you will assist with academic and personal development throughout the school day.
Responsibilities include preparing the classroom, supporting reading and personalised activities, and contributing to pupil record plans. The post is term-time and 33 hours per week, with inclusions such as 5 inset days.

Greenacre School is one of the UK’s largest special schools, educating over 300 children and young people aged 3 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities. The school works with satellite classes within local mainstream settings to support social inclusion, and strives to maintain an Outstanding Ofsted rating as a team.
As a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant (TA2) you will provide more than classroom support. You will build connections, foster relationships and guide pupils on their path to a bright future. Starting salary for a Grade 2 Teaching Assistant is £19,192 actual annual salary (FTE £24,796), working 33 hours per week, Mon–Fri, term time only plus 5 inset days. Benefits include joining the Wellspring Trust. Typical hours are 8.50am–3.55pm (Mon, Tue, Thu), 8.50am–4.10pm (Wed) and 8.50am–3.45pm (Fri).
