Job summary

Powys County Council is advertising a Part-time Teaching Assistant (Level 2) at Ysgol Maesydderwen in Ystradgynlais. The post is term-time only, 27.5 hours per week, starting ASAP to 31 August 2027, with salary £26,427 to £26,847 pro rata. You will support learners and assist in providing care, safety and welfare within the ALN team.

Applicants should be well organised and able to support learning, with Enhanced DBS clearance. Closing date: Wednesday 21 October 2026.

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting learners with ALN desirable.
• Ability to work in a team and manage groups.

The Governors are looking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our highly
committed ALN team. Starting in September, we are looking to appoint a well organised and efficient person who is able to assist and support the learning of learners or groups of learners and assist in providing general care, safety and welfare of learners.
The role is a temporary position, term time working.
