Job summary

Briar Hill Primary School & Nursery in Northampton is seeking a part-time, fixed-term role to support the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom, delivering learning activities and ensuring a supportive learning environment.

The post is 30 hours per week, term-time 39 weeks, fixed term until 31 August 2027, with responsibilities spanning safeguarding, pastoral care, and enabling pupil development within a positive school culture.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • Work with the team to create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • Work with individuals and groups of pupils to deliver learning programmes.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities.
  • Assist with the general pastoral care of pupils, including helping those who are unwell, distressed or unsettled.
  • Assist pupils with personal needs as appropriate.

About the Role

30 hours per week, Term Time 39 weeks Part‑time Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2027.

Salary & Benefits

NJC3 £24,796 FTE, £17,659 per annum pro rata.
