Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants to work in Primary schools in and around Cambridge, specifically the CB20 postcodes.

Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support & general TA duties)
Location: Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. You will be expected to work within multiple schools within the borough.
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support and general TA duties to our schools within Cambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about working with young children and making a positive impact on their educational journey. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis, and have a nurturing and patient approach. These roles are temporary but many of which may develop into long term and even permanent.

About the School: The schools we work with are lovely, welcoming and supportive. Working in Ely and surrounding villages you will work between 08:30am and 15:30pm Monday to Friday. There is work every day and depending on the role, there are full and part-time posts vacant.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting in the last 3 years.
  • A passion for helping young children achieve their full potential.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required.
  • Ability to travel between schools is desirable, but not essential.
