Job summary

Justteachers Ltd partners with a welcoming Primary School in the Fakenham area seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. You will work closely with class teachers across the primary age range, providing classroom support, helping pupils access learning, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Previous school-based experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential.
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Two recent education-based references.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom to access learning and achieve their individual targets
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective learning activities
• Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils
• Assist with the delivery of interventions to support academic progress
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
• Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate
