Job summary

We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our friendly learners in an inclusive EYFS setting. You will work with teachers to deliver engaging activities, record progress, and provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, outdoor learning, and collaboration with parents. Applicants should hold a level 2 childcare qualification and have strong communication skills; Paediatric First Aid is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 childcare qualification (or higher).
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy and ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Desirable Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and assist in delivering lessons that cater to diverse pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with learning activities and ensure task completion.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support where needed.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers to monitor pupil progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our enthusiastic and curious learners. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide individualised support, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere in our Early Years team and Pre-School.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To have fun! To plan for children’s individual needs and record progress and development to ensure that children achieve their full potential. To be responsible for a key group of children and work in partnership with parents and carers. To be a positive role model to the children to ensure they thrive and develop within a nurturing environment. To have a good understanding and knowledge of the EYFS, child development and Ofsted requirements. To provide first hand opportunities, experiences and trips to explore the wider world. To spend time outdoors, exploring the natural world around them including access to our forest school area. To be responsible to our legal requirements to safeguard all children and complete relevant records and reports where necessary.

Qualifications:
  • A recognised Level 2 qualification (or higher) in childcare.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Basic knowledge of the Early Years curriculum.
  • It is also desirable to hold a relevant Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

This position is for 2 days each week (Monday & Friday 6.5 hours per day) & will be a temporary contract until 31st August 2027
