Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment Ltd in Coventry is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a small primary alternative provision, working three days a week during term time.

You will support pupils with SEMH, autism and other SEND needs, collaborating with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and small-group support. Outdoor and trauma-informed approaches are part of the role, emphasizing a calm and nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in SEMH, SEN, PRU or AP settings.
• Dedicated, patient and nurturing, with a calm and consistent approach.
• Some knowledge of trauma-informed practice, autism or ADHD.
• Passionate about helping children re-engage with learning.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to stay on task and engaged
• Use positive behaviour strategies to help pupils feel settled and ready to learn
• Follow pupils' individual plans and contribute to their progress
• Keep routines predictable and consistent so children feel safe
• Take part in outdoor learning sessions

Contract: Temporary, term time

Hours: 3 days a week

Luma Education is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a small primary alternative provision in Coventry, 3 days a week. The school supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism and complex SEND, many of whom are rebuilding their confidence after a difficult time in mainstream education.

About the school
