Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is working with a fantastic Alternative Provision in the NG6 area of Nottingham, seeking a passionate Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time on a temporary-to-permanent basis with an immediate start, supporting students with SEMH and challenging behaviour.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, help manage behaviour, promote engagement and build positive relationships, collaborating with staff to create a safe, supportive learning environment where

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic Alternative Provision in the NG6 area of Nottingham, supporting with their recruitment for a passionate and experienced Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant.

This setting provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students who may struggle within mainstream education. The provision focuses on building confidence, engagement and positive relationships, helping young people develop the skills they need to succeed both academically and socially.

The provision is looking to take on a full-time Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with an immediate start.

The successful Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant will be supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage engagement and promote positive learning experiences. You will be working closely with teaching staff to create a safe, structured and supportive environment where students feel valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.

The successful Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant will have:

• Relevant experience working with children or young people within education, care or support settings.
• Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students who may struggle to engage with education.
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
