Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a specialist Teaching Assistant in Cardiff to support a pupil who is completely blind in Key Stage 3. You will provide one-to-one support during the school day and help access lessons across subjects.

The role requires practical Braille skills, experience using Braille in learning, adapting materials for a blind learner, and familiarity with a Mantis device. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, subject to safeguarding checks.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Confident, practical Braille reading skills
• Experience using Braille to support learning across the curriculum, including Maths and Science
• Experience adapting and modifying classwork for a completely blind learner
• Experience using a Mantis device
• Ability to support a pupil accessing the Key Stage 3 curriculum
• Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
