Are you a Teaching Assistant who would like to work flexible days supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We currently have numerous schools across Enfield seeking confident and proactive Teaching Assistants with a good understanding of supporting children with SEMH or Special Educational Needs (SEN), or a strong willingness to learn to support children with additional needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with pupils either on a 1-to-1 basis or within groups in a classroom setting during the school day. Pupils' ages range from 2 to 19 years old and may have SEMH or SEN such as Autism, ADHD, PDA, challenging behaviors, or physical disabilities like Down Syndrome. Your work will involve classroom support, specialist mentoring sessions, and some break times. Some pupils may display challenging behaviors, and the school will provide training in suitable interventions and approaches. You will collaborate closely with the school's SENCO, senior management team, and external agencies including therapists, healthcare professionals, and CAMHS.
