Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning, development, confidence and independence in class and school.
• Provide tailored support to individuals and small groups, including SEN and other needs.
• Assist teachers with lessons, literacy and numeracy activities and assessments.
• Encourage pupils through positive reinforcement and patient guidance.
• Monitor pupils’ progress and share observations with teachers.
• Support positive behaviour and help develop social and communication skills.
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Help with personal care and welfare needs when required in line with procedures.
• Support programmes from professionals such as educational psychologists.
