Job summary

Aspiration Training in Harrogate is seeking an attentive Education Support Assistant to work under the direction of teaching staff. The role focuses on meeting students' learning, wellbeing, safety, and personal needs, with emphasis on safeguarding and inclusive practice.

You will collaborate with teachers to implement tailored activities, monitor progress, assist with assessments and records, and help create a positive, stimulating classroom environment that supports every learner.

Responsibilities

• Support students’ learning, development, wellbeing, and safety under teaching direction.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored activities meeting individual needs.
• Monitor and report on students’ progress, behaviour, and concerns to inform planning.
• Assist with assessments, marking, and maintaining student records.
• Promote inclusive practices and positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Support personal care and safeguarding duties in line with school procedures.
• Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and before/after school to ensure safety.
• Prepare resources and support classroom displays to create a stimulating environment.
• Contribute to safeguarding as per statutory guidance and school policies.
