Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision Specialist - Northampton

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work within Alternative Provision settings across Northampton. These settings support students who thrive outside of mainstream education, providing personalised learning experiences that rebuild confidence and encourage success.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Supporting pupils who may have faced exclusion, trauma, or social/emotional challenges.
  • Delivering tailored interventions and mentoring to promote engagement and self-esteem.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and behaviour mentors to create safe, structured environments.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Supporting functional skills and vocational learning.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
  • Experience in SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) or Alternative Provision.
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Understanding of de-escalation and restorative approaches.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet diverse learner needs.
