Summary The Governing Body of St Leonard’s C of E Primary school are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join our inspirational and dedicated team of staff.

This role is an exciting role covering all duties as outlined in the TA 3 job description at St. Leonards CE Primary School and primarily within the Early Years. The position is term time only, part time, and if successful the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

  • Is an enthusiastic teaching assistant with a proven track record of work in a primary school setting and preferably with Early Years’ experience.
  • Is motivated, patient, caring and considerate committed to children’s wellbeing.
  • Has excellent communication skills, is flexible and proactive in approach.
  • Enjoys contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Is able to build warm, nurturing, relationships with children and have high expectations of learning, achievement, progress and behaviour;
  • Has knowledge of the EYFS, and able to plan, and implement the curriculum alongside the leadership team.
  • Can undertake activities to support the personal, social and emotional needs of the children.
  • With the guidance, support and encouragement of leaders, will help develop the Early Years environment both internally and externally.
  • Will support the Early Years in its growth, learning, and development in a forward thinking EYFS team.
  • Is willing to engage in the wider aspects of school life.
  • Will work primarily across Early Years with the possibility of working across KS1. Carry out the duties as deemed appropriate to the grade.
  • Be committed to supporting the school’s Christian ethos and values.

Essential Qualifications
  • Grade A* - C at GCSE or O Levels/CSE in English & Maths (equivalent to A* - C GCSE)
  • NVQ Level 3 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent) – full and relevant for EYFS.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
