Job summary

The Breck Primary School in Poulton-le-Fylde is recruiting a Level 2A Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs, either one-to-one or in small groups. The role contributes to resilience-building and supports afternoon curriculum activities within school.

Hours are 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm on school days, with potential for additional hours via the after-school club. DBS and safeguarding checks apply as part of due diligence. Pro rata salary will reflect contracted hours and weeks.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare (desirable).
  • First Aid (desirable).

Responsibilities

We are expanding our support team within school and are seeking to appoint a Level 2A Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

The successful candidate will contribute to our aim of developing each child’s resilience by providing targeted social skills development alongside support for afternoon curriculum activities. We would ideally like someone with Teaching Assistant experience; however, we would also consider applicants who have experience of supporting children with SEN.

The hours of work are from 12.00 pm to 3.30 pm each school day. There may be potential for additional hours through working within the school’s after-school club.

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

This is a part-time, term-time-only position. Please note that the salary quoted is the full-time equivalent salary; the successful candidate will receive a pro rata salary based on their contracted hours and working weeks.

Essential Qualifications
  • 5 x GCSE - Grade 4/C or above
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ L2 or L3 in Childcare (or similar)
  • First Aid
