Job summary

Woodlands Park Primary is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term contract for the 2026-2027 academic year. The post involves working across the school with potential 1:1 support during the day.

We seek a self-motivated, flexible team player who can initiate, communicate effectively and deliver interventions to support pupil learning and behaviour.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C (or equivalent).
• NVQ 2 or 3, or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/youth.
• Proof of qualifications and satisfactory references will be required.

Responsibilities

• Work across the school with possible 1:1 support during the day.
• Deliver targeted interventions for children and track progress.
• Create and maintain a purposeful, positive learning environment for all pupils.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our very supportive, hardworking and enthusiastic team at Woodlands Park Primary. To work across the school with possible 1:1 elements during the day.

We are looking for someone who:

• is self-motivated, flexible, resilient and a team player.
• can use their initiative in the setting and adapt provision to meet the needs of the children.
• is an effective communicator.
• is dynamic, resilient and hard working with a positive nature.
• has experience of delivering interventions for children and can create and maintain a purposeful learning environment.
• has high expectations and understanding of behaviour of all pupils.

Applicants must have Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths GCSE and a NVQ 2 or 3, or equivalent TA qualification.
