Job summary

Qualifications

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning in our specialist SEND Unit, The Nest @ Barden.
  • Assist pupils with additional needs to access learning and participate in activities.
  • Follow school safeguarding policies and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Summary Barden Primary School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 2(b) to work within our specialist SEND Unit, The Nest @ Barden. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and flexible practitioner who is committed to supporting high‑quality teaching and learning and making a positive difference to children with additional needs.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in
  • English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment Experience of Administrative work
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
