Job summary

Arboretum Primary School in Derby is seeking a Teaching Assistant 2 to join a large, dedicated team supporting pupils across KS1/KS2. The successful candidate will assist with classroom supervision, small groups and 1:1 support, and provide cover during PPA time.

A CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Teaching & Learning or equivalent is required. The role offers permanent, full-time hours (35 per week during term time plus inset days) with pro-rata arrangements and commitment to ongoing professional

Responsibilities

Location: Arboretum Primary School, Derby
Hours: 35 hours a week, (Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri 8.30am to 3.45pm, Weds 8.30am to 5.00pm). 39 weeks per year (term time + 5 Inset days)

This is an exciting role for the right person to join our large, friendly and incredibly dedicated team of teaching assistants, supporting teaching staff and pupils across our School. We require a qualified and experienced teaching assistant who ideally has recent experience within KS1 and KS2 phases with a strong working knowledge of phase curriculums. The successful candidate will have a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Teaching & Learning, or equivalent qualification.

You will be assisting with supervision of the pupils in the classroom, in groups and 1:1 when required. The successful candidate will have experience of children with a range of educational and emotional needs and will be able to demonstrate resilience and calm in stressful situations, focussing on solutions with patience, kindness and empathy.

You will also provide cover for the class whilst the teacher takes their PPA time.
