Job summary

Chirton C of E Primary School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant (1:1) to support a pupil with diverse needs. Chirton C of E Primary Schoolisseekingto appoint a highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant (1:1). As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

In this role, you will make a meaningful difference by providing dedicated support to an individual pupil, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher, Inclusion Lead, parents, and external professionals to deliver tailored support that meets the child's individual needs. The role involves adapting learning activities, reinforcing teacher instructions, and helping the pupil remain engaged, focused, and successful in the classroom. You will support the implementation of individual provision plans, MSPs, and EHCP outcomes where applicable, while promoting independence and positive learning behaviours. A key aspect of the role is building a trusting and supportive relationship that encourages the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development. You may also provide personal care, therapeutic support exercises, and assistance with physical needs where required. We are looking for a caring, patient, and resilient individual with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs. Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and working collaboratively as part of a dedicated school team.
