Job summary

Value Education LTD is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in Primary Schools in the Rochdale area. The role runs from September 2026 with a daily rate of £93–£110 and working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30–3:30.

The ideal candidate will support children with additional needs, helping each child according to individual needs, and may work 1:1 or in groups across KS1–KS2.

Qualifications

• Experience working with additional needs in a school setting.
• Able to communicate confidently with parents, pupils and staff.
• Capable of handling difficult situations and behaviour effectively.
• KS1-KS2 experience or willingness to support across primary age groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Class Teacher in preparing work for the lesson ahead.
• Assist with group activities and 1:1 and small-group work.
• Provide additional support to children with SEN needs.
• Tailor lesson plans to individual needs and adapt as required.
• Work inside and outside the classroom under guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
• Support pupils with personal care needs when appropriate.

The ideal candidates will have a passion for education, supporting children with additional needs, and be committed to helping each child in the most effective way depending on the individual needs.

Teaching Assistant Duties:

• Assist the Class Teacher in preparing work for the lesson ahead
• Assist with group activities
• Work with children on a 1:1 and group basis
• Provide additional support to children with a range of SEN needs
• Tailor lesson plans to individual needs
• Work inside and outside the classroom
• Work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
• Support pupils with personal care needs when appropriate

Requirements:

• Confident in communicating with parents, pupils and members of staff
• Able to handle difficult situations and behaviour efficiently
• Experience working with additional needs in a school setting (or similar)
