Job summary

The Mews School in Wem is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students learning and social development, both inside and outside the classroom. You will work 1:1 or 2:1 with students who need extra support, and help prepare engaging activities tailored to individual needs.

The role involves assisting teachers to maintain a positive, organized, and inspiring classroom environment, reacting calmly to classroom situations, with full induction and safeguarding checks.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Experience supporting students in educational settings preferred.

Salary Details: £23,370.40 per annum

The Mews school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and help students thrive both academically and socially.

The school:

The Mews School is an independent school in the county of Shropshire, we provide education for students aged 11-18 who have suffered trauma enabling them to realise their potential and through personalised support, achieve their goals.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting students learning and social development inside and outside the classroom.
• Working 1:1 or 2:1 with students who need extra support.
• Helping to set up engaging activities tailored to each student’s needs.
• Supporting teachers to create a positive, organised, and inspiring classroom environment.
• Reacting to classroom situations with calm, constructive, and professional guidance.
