Job summary

The Supply Register is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support learning across primary and secondary schools in Dorset, England. This role offers flexible, day-to-day and longer-term opportunities, with a focus on helping pupils succeed in a variety of educational settings.

You will work with teachers and school staff to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing, across individuals, small groups or whole classes as needs arise.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people.

  • Reliable, professional and adaptable.
  • Confident working with pupils of different ages and abilities.
  • Previous experience in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and develop pupils' confidence.
  • Provide additional support to pupils who may have SEND or other learning needs.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage pupils to participate in learning and develop their independence.
  • Support pupils with their social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
  • Support classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.
  • Assist with school routines, including break and lunchtime duties where required.
  • Provide appropriate support and encouragement to pupils throughout the school day.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times.

About the Role

The Supply Register is currently seeking enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistants to join our team and work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Dorset.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people and want the flexibility to work in different educational settings.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. You may work with individuals, small groups or whole classes, depending on the needs of the school.

Key Responsibilities
