Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd are recruiting a friendly Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Wakefield's primary and secondary schools. This role offers flexible day-to-day supply, longer placements, or permanent opportunities, with competitive weekly PAYE pay and flexible start dates.

You will assist teachers, work with individuals and groups, and help pupils access learning in an inclusive, supportive environment. Training and CPD opportunities are available to develop your skills.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to support pupils across KS1–KS4.
  • TA qualifications or training is desirable depending on experience.
  • Patient, adaptable and proactive; able to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers and help pupils access learning in a positive classroom environment.
  • Work with individuals, small groups, and sometimes the whole class to reinforce learning and behaviour.
  • Contribute to pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

Are you a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity within welcoming primary and secondary schools across the Wakefield area?

We are working with a range of friendly and inclusive schools seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils in their learning and development. Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day supply work, a longer-term placement, or a permanent role, we can help you find an opportunity that suits your experience and career goals.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and helping pupils to access learning in a positive and engaging classroom environment.

You will work with individuals, small groups, and sometimes the whole class, helping to reinforce learning, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development. You will be a valued part of the school team, helping to create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Requirements
  • Have recent experience working within a school or educational setting
  • Be confident supporting pupils across all age groups from KS1-KS4
  • Have a genuine passion for working with children and supporting learning
  • Be patient, adaptable, and proactive
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Hold relevant TA qualifications or training (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
