Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a dynamic classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils who need additional help.
  • Supervise pupils during classroom activities, lunch, and recess, ensuring safety and positive behaviour.
  • Prepare resources, set up equipment, and maintain an organised learning space.
  • Record attendance, monitor progress, and contribute to pupil assessments.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to support individual learning needs.
  • Uphold school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety standards.

Teaching Assistant – Walton, Surrey

Location: Walton, Surrey
Hours: Full-time, Monday‑Friday, 08:00 – 15:30
Salary: Paid to scale (according to national TA band)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Walton school community. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will support the delivery of high‑quality instruction, foster an inclusive learning environment, and help each pupil achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons.
  • Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils who need additional help.
  • Supervise pupils during classroom activities, lunch, and recess, ensuring safety and positive behaviour.
