Job summary

We are seeking a teaching assistant to join a welcoming school in Southampton. You will support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing, working closely with teachers and support staff to help every child reach their potential academically, socially and emotionally.

You will assist individuals and small groups, encourage engagement and independence, and help maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school located in Southampton. This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Southampton, Eastleigh, Hedge End, Totton, Romsey, Winchester, Fareham and surrounding areas. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning, development and wellbeing, working closely with teachers and support staff to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. You will support individuals and small groups to access learning effectively, encourage engagement, confidence and independence, and help maintain a safe, structured and positive classroom environment. You will also contribute to behaviour management, classroom organisation and safeguarding, while acting as a positive role model and supporting the school's ethos, values and overall aims. The role will involve working collaboratively with teachers and colleagues, participating in meetings and training, and contributing to ongoing school improvement and development initiatives.

Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have previous experience working with children in an educational, residential, care or similar setting.
