Job summary

Teach Plus are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Slough, starting ASAP. This full-time role supports Reception pupils, assisting the class teacher with engaging lessons and targeted interventions, including Phonics, to small groups.

The school emphasises inclusion, a structured curriculum, and supportive leadership. A DBS Update Service and UK work-rights are required; 3 months UK TA experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months UK experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Strong passion for working with children
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities within a Reception class.
• Deliver small-group interventions, including Phonics, to support early literacy and language development.
• Provide one-to-one support for pupils who require additional assistance with learning, communication or social development.
• Encourage positive behaviour, pupil engagement and independence throughout the school day.
• Assist with preparing classroom resources and creating a safe, stimulating learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with the class teacher regarding individual needs and achievements.
