Job summary

SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL is advertising two SEND teaching assistant posts at Shifnal Primary School for the 27.5-hour week term-time schedule. The roles are fixed-term until July 2027 and involve supporting SEND pupils, both individually and in small groups, inside and outside the classroom.

The posts require teamwork, resilience and DBS clearance; closing date is 30 October 2026 and interviews on 6 November 2026. Salary is Grade 5, Point 7 with term-time hours.

The role will require the ability to work well in a team, keep children engaged and be resilient in challenging situations. The role is predominantly working with SEND children, supporting individuals and small groups both inside and outside the class setting.

Any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS before taking up any post.
