Monarch Education is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing school environment in Salford. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students with special educational needs achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of various learning difficulties and challenges, enabling them to provide personalised support that helps students flourish academically and socially.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored support to pupils with diverse needs, including autism, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities. Your responsibilities will include working closely with these students on a one-to-one basis, implementing individualised learning plans, and facilitating their participation in classroom activities. You will also collaborate with teachers and specialists to create an inclusive environment where all pupils feel valued, supported, and confident to succeed.

Position Details

  • Location: On-site, Salford
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only, 8:00 - 15:00

We are seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs and to encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience is essential.

Qualifications For The Ideal Candidate

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or children's support worker, particularly with SEND pupils, is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach to working with children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting individual pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of personalised learning strategies and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Creating a positive learning environment that encourages engagement, confidence, and independence.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback and support to help pupils overcome challenges.
