Job summary

The Mead School in Royal Tunbridge Wells is seeking a talented and caring Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with EHCP during core lessons, interventions and small-group work. The role requires initiative and teamwork within a guided school team.

You will report to the Head of Learning Strategies and Form Tutor/Teaching Staff, with duties spanning planning activities, keeping records and maintaining a supportive classroom environment. The school values pastoral care and Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head, Head of Learning Strategies, Form Tutors and teaching staff in delivering high quality learning experiences for the pupil with an EHCP.
  • Create a friendly, caring classroom environment to support pupil learning during agreed hours.
  • Ensure daily routines are followed and assist with planning activities for the pupil or small groups.
  • Maintain pupil records and carry out assessments under supervision.
  • Support in keeping a safe, tidy classroom/school space and assist on school trips as required.
  • Provide pastoral support and act as a positive role model for all pupils.
