Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant – Reading
Location: Reading, Berkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only
We’re looking for a calm, committed Primary Teaching Assistant to join a values-led school in Reading that takes a focused and structured approach to learning. With small class sizes and a tech-enabled teaching style, it’s an ideal opportunity for a TA who enjoys working in a low-disruption, high-engagement setting.
This school supports pupils from Year 3 upwards, with a slightly higher-than-average proportion of students requiring SEN support and many pupils eligible for free school meals. That makes this a truly meaningful and rewarding environment for support staff who want to make a difference.
Support pupils in Years 3–6 across Maths, English and independent learning time
Provide tailored support for students with mild SEN needs in-class
Build strong relationships with pupils, supporting their confidence and engagement
Help prepare teaching resources and maintain an organised, consistent classroom space
Contribute to a calm, values-led learning culture with minimal disruption
Experience supporting KS2 pupils (or similar age range)
Confidence with low-level SEN support (ASD, speech and language, learning delay)
Patience, structure, and a nurturing mindset
Understanding of inclusive practices and safeguarding
If you’re ready to bring your support skills into a settled, purposeful primary school where routines are strong and students are motivated, this could be your ideal next role.
